A vote following a citizens' initiative on whether the Norrbotnia railway should run through the town centre with a new travel centre by the southern bay, as the Transport Administration had decided, or along the E4 through Storfors.
Town centre received the most votes, 64.7 %. Turnout was 34.7 %.

About the referendum
Municipal referendums are advisory. The municipal council is not bound by the outcome.
The referendum was held after a citizens' initiative, a petition among the municipality's eligible voters.
The municipality's total row gives 11,725 voters, but the options and the invalid votes add up to 11,785, which also gives the municipality's turnout of 34.7%. The number of voters in a few districts also differs by one to three from the sum of the votes.
The municipality merged its 27 election districts into six referendum districts.
