A vote following a citizens' initiative with about 9,000 signatures from the group Hela kommunen ska leva och lära, against closures and mergers of schools and preschools.
Option 1: Stop closures received the most votes, 92.5 %. Turnout was 38.2 %.
- ”Avbryt omedelbart nedläggningar och sammanslagningar av skolor och förskolor. Ta i stället fram en ny utvecklingsplan som utgår från dialog med skolpersonal, barn och föräldrar samt värnar levande byar och stadsdelar. I planen ska de redan genomförda nedläggningarna utvärderas och återställas där det är motiverat och efterfrågat.”

The vote was not held on the same day as an election. The municipality counted the votes in 44 referendum districts of its own, so there is no map.
The collection district holds votes counted for the municipality but not per voting district, such as late postal votes. It therefore has no eligible voters or turnout.
About the referendum
Municipal referendums are advisory. The municipal council is not bound by the outcome.
The referendum was held after a citizens' initiative, a petition among the municipality's eligible voters.
The ballot had no option for abstaining. Blank votes are counted as invalid here, as in general elections.
The municipality's table has two typing errors that are corrected here. Gamla Bergnäset-Trollstaden has 685 voters, not 658: this gives the district's own shares (83.6%, 13.4%, turnout 42.4%) and the municipality's total of 24,068. Hertsölund has 376 votes for option 1, not 379: this gives the share of 92.6% and the municipality's total of 21,907. The same shares appear in the municipality's news item on vartlulea.se.
The municipality reports 354 blank and 33 invalid votes for the municipality as a whole. Per district it gives only the options and the number of voters, so blank and invalid votes per district are voters minus the options.
The municipality's percentages are calculated on all voters, including invalid votes. Here the shares are calculated on valid votes.
