Arjeplog's first referendum apart from the general elections, following a citizens' initiative: a new distance-learning upper secondary school or continued upper secondary education at Hornavanskolan run by the municipality.
Hornavanskolan received the most votes, 57.2 %. Turnout was 42.4 %.
